Vectorize Images Online

Vectorizo is a free online AI image vectorizer that converts raster images — PNG, JPG, WEBP and GIF — into scalable vector graphics in SVG format. Upload a picture and it is traced into clean shapes with smooth curves, flat colors and sharp corners in a few seconds, right in your browser.

Unlike simple auto-trace tools, the vectorizer first works out what kind of artwork you uploaded — a logo, line art, an illustration, a silhouette or a photo — and tunes color reduction, curve smoothing and detail for it automatically.

Whether you want to vectorize an AI image from Midjourney or ChatGPT, convert a PNG logo to vector, prepare an SVG cut file for Cricut, make artwork for screen printing or laser engraving, or turn a sketch into an editable illustration, you get a real vector file made of editable paths — not a picture wrapped in an SVG.

Open the result in Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Affinity Designer or CorelDRAW, scale it to any size without losing quality, and recolor it in seconds.

3 simple steps

How to Convert an Image to SVG

From pixels to a production-ready vector file in under a minute.

  1. Step 1

    Pick an image

Drag a PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF onto the page, click to browse, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V. Images up to 25 MB are accepted.

  2. Step 2

    We trace it automatically

The vectorizer reads your image, detects whether it is a logo, line art, illustration or photo, and converts every pixel region into smooth, editable vector shapes.

  3. Step 3

    Get your SVG

Zoom in to compare the vector with the original pixels, adjust the options if you want to, then download a clean SVG file ready for Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma or Cricut.

Everything You Need for Perfect Vectors

A vectorization engine built for accuracy, with the controls to fine-tune every result.

Automatic artwork detection

Every image is analysed first. Logos, line art, flat illustrations, silhouettes and photos each get settings tuned for them, so you get a good vector without touching a slider.

Perceptual color reduction

Colors are grouped in LAB color space, the way the human eye sees them. Choose 8 to 128 colors or let the vectorizer decide, and get clean flat color layers instead of noisy speckles.

Smooth, optimized curves

Error-bounded curve fitting turns jagged pixel staircases into smooth Bézier curves and straight, crisp edges, with as few nodes as possible for small, easy-to-edit files.

Background removal

Keep the background, flatten it to white, or remove it for a transparent SVG — ideal for logos, stickers and cut files.

Multi-pass quality mode

For difficult images, multi-pass tries several vectorization settings and keeps the result that matches your original best.

Pixel-perfect inspection

Zoom deep into the result, overlay the vector outlines on the source pixels and use the magnifier to check every curve before you download.

Clean, safe SVG code

Every SVG is rebuilt from scratch before it reaches you: plain paths and colors, no embedded bitmaps, no scripts, nothing hidden.

Private by design

Uploads are converted in an isolated temporary folder. A copy may be kept only to check and improve conversion quality: never published, never shared, deleted on request.

Use cases

What Can You Do With a Vector File?

SVG files scale to any size with no loss of quality, which makes them the standard for print, cutting machines and the web.

Printing & merchandise

Screen printing, T-shirts, mugs, stickers and large-format banners need vectors to print sharp at any size.

Cricut, Silhouette & vinyl

Make SVG cut files for vinyl decals, heat-transfer designs and paper crafts from any picture.

Laser engraving & CNC

LightBurn, Glowforge and CNC software follow vector paths to cut and engrave precisely.

Logos & brand identity

Rebuild a pixelated logo as a vector so it looks right on business cards, signs, vehicles and screens.

Web design & UI icons

SVG icons and illustrations load fast, stay sharp on Retina displays and can be styled with CSS.

Illustration & design

Bring hand-drawn sketches into Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma as editable shapes you can recolor.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an image vectorizer?

An image vectorizer converts a raster image, made of pixels, into a vector image made of shapes and curves. Pixels blur and turn blocky when you enlarge them; vector paths stay perfectly sharp at any size, from a favicon to a billboard.

How do I convert a PNG to SVG?

Drop your PNG anywhere on this page, or click "Pick Image to Vectorize". The conversion starts immediately and takes a few seconds. When it is done, press "Download SVG". The same steps convert JPG, JPEG, WEBP and GIF images to SVG.

Is Vectorizo free?

Yes. Vectorizo is free to use right now: 5 conversions without an account, and 50 new images a day with a free account. No watermark, and you can download every SVG you create. If paid plans are introduced later, this page will say so.

Does it work on AI-generated images?

Yes. Images from Midjourney, DALL·E, ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, Leonardo and other AI image generators are ordinary PNG, JPG or WEBP files, so they upload like any other picture. AI art often has soft edges and subtle noise; color reduction merges that into clean, flat shapes, giving you a scalable SVG you can print, cut or edit.

Which file formats are supported?

You can upload PNG, JPG/JPEG, WEBP and GIF images up to 25 MB. For an animated GIF, the first frame is converted. The result is an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) file, the standard vector format supported by every design tool and web browser.

What is the difference between raster and vector images?

Raster images (PNG, JPG, WEBP, BMP, GIF) store a fixed grid of colored pixels, so they lose quality when scaled up. Vector images (SVG, EPS, PDF, AI) store geometric shapes described by math, so they can be resized, recolored and edited without any loss of quality.

Can I edit the SVG file afterwards?

Yes. The output is made of real, editable paths, not an embedded picture. Open it in Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Affinity Designer, CorelDRAW or any code editor to change colors, move shapes or delete parts you do not need.

Can I use the SVG with Cricut, Silhouette or a laser cutter?

Yes. SVG is the file format cutting and engraving software expects: it imports into Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio (Designer Edition and above), LightBurn and Glowforge. For cut files, the Silhouette or Line art mode gives the cleanest shapes.

Does it work on photos?

It does, using the Photographic mode, which keeps many color layers. Photos become a stylized, poster-like vector rather than an exact copy. The sharpest results come from logos, icons, illustrations, clip art and scanned drawings.

Can it remove the background?

Yes. Under Options, set Background to "Remove" to drop a flat background and get a transparent SVG, or to "Flatten to white" to replace it with solid white.

How many colors will my vector have?

By default the vectorizer picks the color count for you. You can also set it to 8, 16, 32, 64 or 128 colors, or keep every color. Colors are merged perceptually, so similar shades combine the way your eye would group them. Fewer colors means fewer layers and a smaller file.

What happens to the images I upload?

Each image is converted in its own temporary folder and the SVG is sent straight back to your browser. A copy of the uploaded image may be kept so we can check and improve conversion quality; it is never published or shared, and you can ask us to delete it. See the Privacy Policy.
